What are EduProtocols?
EduProtocols are instructional lesson frames that are designed to engage students in online learning through critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. EduProtocols can be used with any subject and any grade level.
There are 28 EduProtocols in all, which are outlined in the EduProtocol Field Guide book series. Seven of the best are highlighted below. Check out the EduProtocols website for more information.

EduProtocol #1 - Thin Slides
Each student creates a single slides to be part of a larger class slide deck. Each student slide contains one word and one image (no more, as speed is the goal).
EduProtocol #2 - Cyber Sandwich
Students work collaboratively with partners to “record notes, compare and contrast topics, and summarize” which eventually leads to well developed research skills.
EduProtocol #3 - Iron Chef
One slide deck per group. Quick research and writing. Assess learning in real time. Students work in groups of 4. Create a 5 slide presentation. Each student is in charge of 1 slide.
EduProtocol #4 - Frayer Model
The Frayer Model is a graphic organizer for building student vocabulary. This technique requires students to define target vocabulary and apply their knowledge by connecting to historical context, generating connecting terms and inserting a picture to illustrate the meaning of the word.
EduProtocol #5 - Sketch & Tell
Students develop understanding and summarizing skills as they read, sketch, and explain to a peer!
EduProtocol #6 - The Fast & The Curious
Using Quizizz and repetition teachers can eliminate fact recall worksheets with this Eduprotocol. Students are provided immediate results and will continue to retest & dramatically improve.
EduProtocol #7 - Number Mania
Students create by the number infographics to showcase their understanding of the learning objective.
