Students stand. An area of the room is designated as the “Lost and Found.”

The teacher calls, “Mix.” Students mix around the room. After  a period of time, the teacher calls “Freeze,” and students freeze.

The teacher then asks a question to which the answer corresponds to a key with a number (e.g., What direction is Washington DC from Californai? Key: North = 1, South =2, East = 3, West = 4).

The teacher calls, “Show me,” and students show their answer with fingers in the air or on their chests.

Students group according to the number. Students not in groups go to the “Lost and Found.”  In their groups, students discuss a question provided by the teacher. It may or may not be related to the initial question.

Option
