Talking Chips
Teams are given talking chips (maximum of 2 per person). The teacher gives a discussion topic and provides think time. Any student begins the discussion, placing one or his or chips in the center of the table.
Any student with a chip continues the discussion, using his or her chip. When all chips are used, teammates collect their chips and continue the discussion using their talking chips.
Modification
Students may be given just one chip each, or two chips. Students with no chips must wait until teammates have used all their chips before they collect all their chips and continue the discussion.
