What is an EduProtocol?
EduProtocols are reusable instructional lesson frames that are designed to engage students in learning through critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity. While the content of your lessons will change, the workflow of each EduProtocol stays the same, allowing students to understand the process in order to stay focused on the learning of the content.

What is the Iron Chef?
The Iron Chef EduProtocol, modeled after the Iron Chef Cooking show, is a modernized version of the jigsaw. Students work in small groups to read, synthesize create, and present to their peers.
In its simplest form, the Jigsaw instructional strategy is when:
- Each student receives a portion of the materials to be introduced;
- Students leave their “home” groups and meet in “expert” groups;
- Expert groups discuss the material and brainstorm ways in which to present their understandings to the other members of their “home” group;
- The experts return to their “home” groups to teach their portion of the materials and to learn from the other members of their “home” group

The Iron Chef Lesson plan makes learning, loud, collaborative, memorable and kids will own their learning. It’s a flavor of “flipping” that makes 1:1 far more effective.
